This page is for those interested in keeping in touch with current research on aggression and other topics related to sports. At the beginning and around the middle of each month, I will provide one reference, sometimes two, to a research publication that I judge to be of good quality and deserving of your attention. My hope is that my fortnightly picks will be of use to the sports aggression researcher, the student writing a term paper or the sports enthusiast looking to sport scientists for an answer to a nagging question. I will especially be looking for studies that are imaginative and innovative in design and that convincingly challenge previous assumptions or break new ground. All will have been published within the past three to four years. At the end of each two-week period, the pick(s) will be moved to the Fortnightly Picks Archive. Suggestions are always welcome. January 15, 2010 December 1, 2009 Williams, K. M., Park, J. H., & Wieling, M. B. (in press). The face reveals athletic flair: Better National Football League quarterbacks are better looking. Personality and Individual Differences. A skookum study November 1, 2009 Abel, E. L., & Kruger, M. L. (2007). Precocity predicts shorter life for major league baseball players: Confirmation of McCann's precocity-longevity hypothesis. Death Studies, 31, 933940.
